Naturalist Guided Hike

We offer a walk along a nature trail, with a distance of 2 km. It will be possible to observe species such as the howler monkey, the green iguana, coatis and a great variety of birds in their natural habitat. For customers, who do not wish to do the Canopy, will be offered to walk through our trails, free of charge and a fee applies, when booking directly, includes naturalist guide.



The Cartagena Canopy is located on one of the most important aquifers in Costa Rica and especially in the canton of Santa Cruz, on the banks of the Nimboyore River. Located between the small town of Cartagena and Lorena and facing the main road on route 155, just:

    Approximately 1 hour from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in the city of Liberia and you can get there in any type of vehicle from a sedan to a bus.

Cartagena Canopy Tour

The Cartagena Canopy Tour  tour consists of 1 hour, as long as the number of people in the activity is valued. It is suitable for any age. It includes children from 3 years old and older adults in normal physical conditions.

The tour starts just 10 meters from our facilities and 5 meters where we give safety instructions. Our clients will be comfortably seated, attentive to the indications of our bilingual and unofficial guides.

It is when, the adrenaline and expectation of traveling through the Toledo forest begins, climbing the majestic trees and especially the Guanacaste, our national tree of Costa Rica and observing a great quantity of birds, monkey congos, iguanas and a great variety of aerial plants .

The tour ends, in a cabin right in our office. Where you can relax after the adrenaline, during the adventure lived, through the cables, in the density of our forest.

Our staff will be attentive, to provide a tropical fruit station, bottle of water, wet towels and observation of the images captured by our paparazi, in the development of all the activity from start to finish.

The wild refuge has an area of 30 hectares, mature forest, natural regeneration and restoration. Being part of the Chorotega biological corridor.
Our visitors will find approximately 90 species of birds, 85 species of plants and animals such as the Congo monkey, coatis, coyotes, squirrels, raccoons, deer, iguanas, etc.

Our forest El Toledo , is a private wildlife refuge, becoming the recharge area. Where the Barba de Viejo River, carries its surface water drained to other destinations such as the Ninboyore River, the Cañas River and finally to the most important river in Guanacaste, the Tempisque River.
