How to not get ripped off exchanging dollars in Costa Rica

People when travelling to Costa Rica need to know this 20-25 years ago Costa Rica was a country in development USDs weren’t as common and there was strict background checks in order to exchange a few USDs now a days USDs has become almost Costa Rica’s second currency and it is widely accepted a word of advice do not exchange your USDs upon arrival at the exchange houses. The airports taxis perfectly accept USDs or Credit Cards wait till you get to a bank at your destination in order to exchange a fair amount of money also if you are travelling to touristy areas in Costa Rica you will not need to exchange much since like I mentioned before in Costa Rica USDs are accepted almost any where and if you exchange you will tend to get ripped off at each shop since they manage their own exchange rate totally different from the official rate established from Central Bank of Costa Rica.

I hope with this advice you can save headaches while travelling in Costa Rica.
